Hatha Beginner Yoga 101
Date: April 6-June 29 (11 weeks)
*No Class April 13 & May 18
Time: Mondays, 7:00-8:15pm

Hatha Beginner Yoga 101 Class Description
A yoga FUNdamentals class. This series is a pre-requisite for every yogi! Apropriate for absolute beginners, and those who would like to revisit the foundations of Yoga.
A class series to introduce yoga basics. All the skills and knowledge you will need to get started, and to progress into other classes with safety and confidence are covered in easy to understand detail.
Focus is on learning the basics of a Hatha yoga practice. First we study the key actions, principles and alignment of core postures separately, with the goal of eventually moving in a more flowing sequence. Correct breathing techniques, basic yoga philosophy, pose names, and relaxation skills will also be covered in each class.
Each week specific poses, and teaching points, will be demonstrated and broken down. There will be time for questions and personal guidance, and lots of information on how to modify postures to suit your needs.
A class to develop strength, flexibility and calm for every body-type, age and experience level. Absolutely no yoga experience is necessary to reap the full benefit of this class. Participants must be able to easily move from sitting on a mat to standing (and vice versa) and be able to support their upper body with their hands (like when on hands and knees). Everyone participates in a way that best suits their own body and experience level. Stretch, strengthen, breathe deeply and finish class with a short relaxation that will have you ready for the most restful sleep ever.
