Mixed Level Hatha Yoga (Active Beginner Yoga 101 Class has been changed to a Beginner-Mixed Level class for Winter 2021 Session)

Now taking registration for Winter Session. Mondays 7pm (Jan 11 – Mar 29). Due to demand this season for a mixed level class this class has been changed to an ALL LEVEL yoga class. We will provide variations to ensure the pose you are doing is suitable for your body’s needs. A supportive space to explore breath and movement. In-studio space remains. Mondays Jan-Mar 2021 Session

Cost: $156+hst ($179.40)
Location: 9 in-studio spaces still available. Live-stream registration option also available. 
1.) Yoga Kula Co-op, 286 Torbay Road/Coaker’s Meadow Plaza: 9 spaces available in-studio. First come first serve. Please indicate your preference for studio or live stream participation in the registration form notes. *All classes will be live streamed if weather is stormy, or Covid 19 regulations change.
2.) Live Stream Option: Participate in this class via Zoom from your home (or anywhere). Live stream registrants have unlimited access to each class for six days after the original live stream. This means you can repeat the class later or do the class on your own schedule. Live Stream registrants also have email access to instructor to ask questions specific to their yoga practice needs.  Only the instructor is visible on the live stream video. Students are not visible.

Yoga for BeginnersClass Details

A yoga FUNdamentals class. This series is a pre-requisite for every yogi! Appropriate for absolute beginners, and those who would like to revisit the foundations of Yoga.

A class series to introduce yoga basics. All the skills and knowledge you will need to get started, and to progress into other classes with safety and confidence are covered in easy to understand detail.

Focus is on  learning the basics of a Hatha yoga practice. First we study the key actions, principles and alignment of core postures separately, with the goal of eventually moving in a more flowing sequence. Correct breathing techniques, basic yoga philosophy, pose names, and relaxation skills will also be covered in each class.

Each week specific poses, and teaching points, will be demonstrated and broken down.  There will be time for questions and personal guidance, and lots of information on how to modify postures to suit your needs.

A class to develop strength, flexibility and calm for every body-type, age and experience level. Absolutely no yoga experience is necessary to reap the full benefit of this class. Participants must be able to easily move from sitting on a mat to standing (and vice versa) and be able to support their upper body with their hands (like when on hands and knees). Everyone participates in a way that best suits their own body and experience level. Stretch, strengthen, breathe deeply and finish class with a short relaxation that will have you ready for the most restful sleep ever.

Whether you are an absolute beginner, already a yogi but need a refresher, or have always wondered, “Am I doing this right”, this is the class for you!
